Around The World Plane Ticket

Trekking around the world can be a whole lot of fun. However world tour tickets are quite expensive. There are many traveling agencies offer discount packages. There are many fun places to visit around the world.

Poor Planning

Poor Planning can ruin your holiday trip. A world tour can get quite hectic. Traveling to so many countries can be difficult. Therefore certain steps need to be kept in mind. It should be remembered that these holidays, will differ, from your single country vacations.

Destinations

The destinations that one wants to visit must be decided on forehand. These shall vary from person to person. Different people have different concepts of where to go for a vacation.

One should be practical. All the countries in the world cannot fit into a RWT trip. While deciding which places to visit, the climate conditions of these places should be considered.

The freezing weather of many countries should be avoided. Therefore one should research the different places to visit. Find out the best time to visit these places.

Tickets

There are many travel agencies which deal with RWT tickets. You should research and ask around for the best travel agents. One can also look up airline alliances for flights which stop at multiple countries. Examples include OneWorld, SkyTeam, and Star Alliance.

The best option would be to buy your tickets in advance. 2-4 months before the holiday would be a good time to book the tickets. You will be able to save a lot of money this way.

Different Factors

Different factors must be kept in mind while planning a RWT trip. It must be kept in mind that for a standard RWT ticket, the number of, countries and miles shall be restricted. These tickets do not let you travel in different directions.

You will only be able to choose one direction at the start of the trip. If this is not suitable for you then customized tickets are also available. The problem with these tickets is that they are quite costly. Many people won’t be able to afford the tickets.

There are many renowned travel agencies which can help you out. There official websites provide tools for customers to plan their holidays. They are quite handy.

Another factor to be kept in mind is the tourist season. Ticket prices will be exorbitant at this time. Therefore this time of the year holidays should be avoided.

Travel Insurance

People planning to go for a RWT trip should get travel insurance for themselves. It should cover medical costs, lost luggage and hospital cost. If one can afford the insurance then other things may be covered as well.

Most Mysterious Places Of the World

According to experts mysterious sites around the world were created by ancient civilization with the help of advanced knowledge and technology and that possibly can be more advanced than our current one.  Some do not believe that there was any so much advanced ancient civilization on earth and ancient astronauts who came down from heaven handed all of the superb knowledge down to us.

Most of scientists do not believe on up stated ideas they try to explain ancient enigmas on the ground of religion and ritual.

According to Discovery Channel there are 3 places, which are the Most Enigmatic Places in the World. But aside from that there are so many other places around the world that capture our imagination because they seem to be so mysterious.

Stonehenge

Stonehenge is one of the most popular mysterious places in the world.

It’s a megalithic monument on the Salisbury Plain in Southern England. It’s composed of 30 upright stones, which are called sarsens, each stone is ten feet tall with more 45 tons weight; they are aligned in a circle with 30 lintels (each lintel weight is 6 tons) perched horizontally atop the sarsens in a continious circle. Inside the outer circle there another circle composed of similar stones and constructed in same fashion.

There are so many great monuments around the world now question is that what is so special about Stonehenge? Who built this? Is it was an astronomical observatory, a religious site or something supernatural?  There are no exact answers for these questions.

According to some experts Druids built Stonehenge, but they can’t tell about the builders. It was constructed between 5,000 and 3,000 years ago, from that it’s easy to know that it was built before that the first metal tools were invented.

Apart from that who built this stone monument, but that anyone can understand that in its construction thousands of people were involved. Dragging huge stones from Marlborough Downs, 30 Km to the south of Stonehenge that is remarkable achievement and amazing feat of engineering.

Stonehenge is even mentioned in Arthurian legend that names Merlin as the engineer.

Another interesting thing is that Stonehenge is built on such angle that the sun rising over the horizon appears to be perfectly placed between gaps in the megaliths.

Nazca Lines

Nazca Lines the excellent group of geolyphs in the world located in Nazca Desert, between the towns of Nazca and Palpa on the Pampas de Jumana in Peru. Engraved on the surface of the desert pampa sand about 300 figures made of straight lines, geometric shapes and pictures of animals and birds. All these engraved drawn images on the desert can be seen only from the air.

There are three mysterious features about Nazca Plateau:

·        The straight lines in the pattern of crossing lines in all directions are many kilometers long.
·        Many of lines form geometric shapes like angles, triangles, bunches, spirals, rectangles, wavy lines, etc.
·        Those lines form animal patterns also.

It is believed that the people called Nasca drew these lines but how they created this wonder of the world no one had explained. As the Nazca lines cannot be viewed except from the air it is assumed that the Nazca people had never seen their work from this vantage point.

Easter Island

Easter Island, which is called Rapa Nui in local language, is located in the southeastern Pacific Ocean and it’s under control of Chile government.

It is small, hilly, treeless island of volcanic origin.  It is one of most isolated inhabited territory on earth but this aspect is cause of its fame, the thing which makes it apart from any other place on earth is its hundreds of megalithic human like statues that face inland from the shore. These statues are called moai.

Approximately all moais are carved out of compressed, easily worked volcanic ash. In these moais largest ones weight is 165 tons and its height is almost 22 meters.

It really looks mysterious that on a barren island how these mega statues were carved? Who built these and why? And how such gigantic statues were carved?

Scholars are unable to answer these questions some suggest that Easter Island inhabitants, the Rapanui who were came from Polynesia.

Easter Island is also known as Te-Pito-O-Te-Henua, meaning “The Navel of the World” and as Mata-Ki-Te-Rani, meaning “ Eyes Looking at Heaven”.

Lake Baikal

Ice layer, which is almost 3 feet thick, always covers Lake Baikal during winters and till beginning of March that remains sameLake Baikal is 400 mile long and 5,000 foot deep. But in next two months the sun will get brighter and the ice on lake will slowly start melting with a process punctuated by cracking sounds not unlike the sharp report of guns.

Sacred Lake

According to Russians this “Sacred Lake” is 25 millions years old and this is the oldest lake on the planet. It is also the deepest lake, holding more water than all of North America’s Great Lakes combined. The aquatic life of the lake comprises more than 1,500 animal species and 1,000 plant species, two third of which are found in this lake only. A marine scientist Andy Rechnitzer says that Baikal is biologically more diverse than other lakes in the world that’s because of its oxygen rich water, which circulates from its surface to its deepest depths, a process likely related to geothermal vents.

Animal Habitat in Lake Baikal

The most interesting animal in the lake is Baikal seal or nurpa, the world’s only fresh water seal.  Nurpas use their sharp claws to carve dens for their families while ice is still forming. It’s easy to find their dens, only look for air bubbles trapped in the ice after being exhaled by nurpas.  The small breathing holes can be seen also that drifted by seals.

Diving in Lake Baikal

Diving in Lake Baikal is totally different than diving in other warms waters. Here for diving a crewmember must use a small metal saw to cut a small hole in the ice. After that a circular manhole size opening is cut with a chain saw, and long poles are used to push the round slab under the ice, though the water is warmer than the air (36 degree F) but still its so much cold for scuba diving.  That’s why every 30 seconds or so divers must tug on safety lines attached to their wrists to let the crew above knows that they are all right.

Seal’s Den

The seal’s den is very complicated ice carving that is having tunnels and an igloo like canopy that function as an air pocket. Naturally nurpas are shy, and pups resting on a bunk bed of ice quickly dive into the water when startled by a visitor.

Weather Conditions

The weather and water conditions in June are much different. Though the water temperature is same as it is in spring but the air temperature is usually in the 60s. Anyhow visibility underwater is 200 feet that’s many time greater than most lakes. The “ Great vis” at that time of the year is caused by the water’s relative lack of minerals and by countless small crustaceans eating the algae, plankton, and bacteria that can cloud fresh water and salt water alike. However clarity don’t last long.

Despite from that only after few minutes of entering water they face such furious cold that pains their ears, face and fingers but divers still exploring the shallows of Baikal. They can see clouds and sky from 50 feet depth, looking down the sea fields of fluffy green algae.

Underwater Habitat in Lake Baikal

The greens spires of three-foot tall candelabra sponges poke through the algae. Such large sponges which get their color from algae living symbiotically n their tissues are not rare in saltwater but in other freshwater lakes they have no parallel. Basically sponges are homes for amphipods, alien looking shrimp like creatures that are as small as specks or as large as human thumbs. There are 240 species of them in the waters of Lake Baikal.

Sculpins always hide in the algae and sponges, bottom dwelling fish that are masters of camouflage that can change their body colors and appearance according to their surroundings. Like most cold-water species these ancient fish don’t move fast because it’s too cold in the lake to make quick moves. The lake’s 40 species of Sculpins comprising 80 percent of Baikal’s fish biomass rely on camouflage for protection against larger fish.

Northern Part of the Lake

Near the northern part of the lake at a depth of approximately 1,350 feet a geothermal vent provides warmth for the community of sponges, snails, worms, and fish living in the pitch-dark environment. The existence of this vent confirms that Baikal is a place where continental masses are being pulled apart. The photographer Emory Kristof who visited this site for the National Geographic Society says that the communities of life in lake Baikal normally resembles organisms found in an ocean so this similarity of organisms gives weight to the theory that Baikal is an ocean in the making.

Omul Fish

Omul a rarely seen creature and delicious fish that is found only in this lake but this fish is having a small population in the lake. Its scarcity indicates Baikal is ecologically out of balance, that’s because of the destructive effects of industrial development and logging nearby.

Vadim Fialkov of the Lake Baikal Limnological Institute describes that local environmental groups had put pressure on the government to reduce the amount of effluents that are dumped into the lake. And with passage of time and if got some luck we will get Baikal back to its original condition. To help the effort, UNESCO had recommended that the lake and its watershed be designated a World Heritage Site.
